The Falconry Weekend 2014
ABOUT THE FALCONRY WEEKEND
August 30th and 31st 2014 at
THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR BIRDS OF PREY
After all the wonderful comments we had how could we not run the weekend again, and so same place, same weekend, same great show, we hope to see you all and more again this year.Things are hotting up, the stands are getting round to booking, we have a great line up of birds being flown and there will be four seminars only this year, to give people the time to go to them, with the outside arena events stopping for that period.
The Falconry Weekend is a specialist falconry show devoted to showcasing the very best of falconry in the UK and abroad. 2012 after an awful year where the British Falconry Fair and the CLA Game Fair and many other were cancelled saw the second running of The weekend held at ICBP to wide acclaim and praise from all those who either visited or exhibited. Some people had never visited the Centre before and were delighted at the quality of the place, others had not been for 25 years or more and could not believe the changes. Its just the perfect setting for an intimate, friendly and very special falconry event.
This weekend, under the name of The Falconry Weekend it is organised by, and held at, the International Centre for Birds of Prey, with a great team of people helping out, including the inimitable Bob Dalton, and various others as well! The Weekend is designed to appeal to falconers, their families and anyone with an interest in this ancient sport and birds of prey.
By bringing together high quality equipment manufacturers, falconry clubs and raptor experts it will enable visitors to engage face to face with their suppliers, instead of trawling through the internet with the risks that entails.
Our experience of the first show in 2011 told us that the visitors were keen to use the opportunity to buy their supplies at the show, 2012 told us the same thing and more. At least they were carrying out enough stuff throughout the day and because the car park was close they kept coming back! I don't think there was a trader that did not have a good time and a good show financially, certainly I think all of them are coming back and that says it all for us.
Most of the young bred at the Centre during the year will be either flying free, in training or on view. The venue is unbeatable as you get to see the whole collection as well as all the stands, and tons of other falconers here to talk to, discuss things and generally have a good time. It should appeal to falconers and those interested in the sport, or those keeping or breeding birds of prey, or those just wanting to see the birds and watch the demonstrations.
All the food is home cooked, great value for money, and tastes nice as well! The bar will be open and run by the same girls as last year, who had a blast! They are working on a competition for you drinkers to enter!!
It was a really successful and fun weekend last year, the atmosphere is unbeatable and you should be organising to come and join the fun - now!
